2010 SIMPLEX INDUSTRIES ENERGY STAR READY PROGRAM
The
following items will be included when you select our Energy Star Ready
Program. By selecting this program it will enable you to prepare your home
to be eligible as an Energy Star Home. Please keep in mind that you will be
required to do additional items after the home is delivered to be eligible
for an Energy Star Acceptance to the program.

Performing in Plant thermal bypass checklist (Note: must be
coordinated between Simplex Industries and your on site Energy Star
Rater) |

|
|
|
Use an Energy Star rated bath fan/light in place of the standard
bath/fan unit to provide ventilation in hall and Master Bedroom Baths.
Unit is a Broan #QTXE080FLT. You should consider making the hall bath
fan/continuous with timer control |

|
|
|
|
Install exterior style door with weather stripping and sill to
basement. Also consider this if home has a walk up attic. (Does not need
to be considered if basement is conditioned space |
|
|
|
|
|
Insulate walls leading to basement or walk up attic, includes Cape close off package with R13 insulation in walls |
|
|
|
|
|
Use 2 x 6 exterior walls with a High Density R-21 insulation |
|
|
|
|
|
Use a minimum of R-38 attic insulation |
|
|
|
|
|
All receptacles and switches on exterior walls are foam sealed and caulked to eliminate air infiltration |
|
|
|
|
|
Add a bead of caulk between the wall sole plate and the floor decking around the entire perimeter of the exterior walls |
|
|
|
|
|
All Electric, H.V.A.C. and Plumbing penetrations at floor and ceiling are sealed to eliminate air infiltration |
|
|
|
|
|
Use minimal expansion foam around exterior window and door units to reduce air infiltration |
|
|
|
|
|
(5) Energy Star rated insulated, airtight recessed lights in Kitchen in place of standard recessed lights. Fixtures do not include compact fluorescent bulbs |

|
|
|
Use Energy Star compliant appliances. Dishwasher ( GE- GSD2300 included in package) |
